SEO Services for Startups in London
A new domain has no authority, no brand searches and no history. That is the whole problem. Startup SEO is about finding the narrow searches you can win now, rather than the category terms you will not touch for two years.

How your customers search
What search looks like in your sector
Buyers rarely search your category by name, because often you are defining it. They search the problem, your competitors, and comparisons: an alternative to a known tool, two products against each other, the best option for a specific kind of team.
Almost none of this is local. A London startup usually sells nationally or globally, so map results and area pages are irrelevant. This is the clearest difference between startup SEO and small business SEO.
Searches we would go after for you
- [competitor] alternative
- best [category] tools for [audience]
- [category] software UK
- [problem] solution for startups
Examples, not a finished list. The real one comes out of your site, your margins and what your competitors already hold.
The work
What we actually do
Every engagement starts with an audit, so this list gets reordered once we have seen your site. Nothing here is theoretical.
- 01
Comparison and alternative pages
The searches where buyers are closest to choosing, and where a new domain can realistically compete.
- 02
Problem-led content
Pages about the problem you solve, aimed at people who do not yet know your category exists.
- 03
Technical foundations
Rendering, indexing and site structure checked before any content investment.
- 04
Founder visibility
Making sure your name and your company survive the due diligence search that customers and investors both run.
- 05
Pipeline reporting
Trials, demos and qualified pipeline rather than sessions, because sessions do not survive a board meeting.
Before you start
What the results page looks like today
Startup SEO results are a mix of long guides and agency listicles. There is a genuine disagreement running through them: founders arguing SEO is the wrong channel before product-market fit, agencies arguing the opposite. Our view is that it depends on your runway, and saying so is more useful than pretending the debate does not exist.
We would rather tell you which positions are realistic now than sell you a target we both know is years away.

FAQs
Startups SEO: common questions
If yours is not answered here, email us and we will reply properly.
Is it too early for us to do SEO?
Possibly. If you have under six months of runway and no proven acquisition channel, paid search gives you answers faster. SEO suits startups that have found something working and want a channel that compounds. We will tell you if we think you should wait.
How long before a new domain ranks?
Expect three to six months for movement on low-competition searches and a year or more for anything competitive. Anyone quoting faster is either targeting searches nobody makes or is not being honest.
Can we rank without backlinks?
For low-competition, specific searches, often yes. For anything commercially valuable, no. Link building is slow and unglamorous and there is no way around it.
Should we worry about AI search as well as Google?
Worth understanding, not worth reorganising around yet. The work that gets you cited by AI tools is largely the work that ranks you in Google: clear structure, real expertise, content that answers a question directly.
We are bootstrapped and sell locally. Is this the right page?
Probably not. If your customers are in London and find you through the map, our small business SEO page covers your situation better.
