SEO Services for Therapists in London
People looking for a therapist are not browsing. They are at a difficult moment, searching privately, and deciding in seconds whether a website feels safe. That changes what belongs on the page and what does not.

How your customers search
What search looks like in your sector
Searches split between the approach and the problem. Someone searching EMDR already knows what they want. Someone searching why they feel like this is much earlier, and needs a different page entirely.
Location matters less than it did because so much work is online, but London searches still carry weight for in-person sessions and for people who want someone in the same timezone and culture.
Accreditation and membership claims must be current and accurate. The ASA has ruled against therapists who advertised lapsed memberships, so we keep those statements checkable.
Searches we would go after for you
- therapist London
- CBT therapist near me
- couples counselling [area]
- anxiety therapist London
Examples, not a finished list. The real one comes out of your site, your margins and what your competitors already hold.
The work
What we actually do
Every engagement starts with an audit, so this list gets reordered once we have seen your site. Nothing here is theoretical.
- 01
Modality and issue pages
Separate pages for the approaches you offer and the problems you work with, matched to how each is searched.
- 02
Accreditation accuracy
Registration and membership presented clearly and kept current, which is both a trust signal and a compliance matter.
- 03
Directory alignment
Making your directory listings and your own site work together instead of competing.
- 04
Private enquiry paths
Contact routes designed for someone who does not want a trail, with tracking that respects that.
- 05
Local and online balance
Deciding honestly whether you are targeting London in person, the UK online, or both.
Before you start
What the results page looks like today
Most of what ranks here is American, written for a different market with different regulators. The handful of UK pages tend to have a case study but no pricing and no FAQ. The real competitors for your clients are the directories, Psychology Today and the counselling listings, which is a different fight from outranking another therapist.
We would rather tell you which positions are realistic now than sell you a target we both know is years away.

FAQs
Therapists SEO: common questions
If yours is not answered here, email us and we will reply properly.
Is SEO worth it when I have a Psychology Today listing?
They do different jobs. Directories bring enquiries and rank well, but you are one of many on the page and you do not control it. Your own site converts the people who want to check you out properly before making contact.
Can I ask clients for Google reviews?
It is delicate. Many therapists choose not to, because asking can affect the therapeutic relationship and replies risk confirming someone was a client. We usually build trust through credentials, writing and clear information instead.
Do I have to publish my address if I work from home?
No. You can be found locally without listing a home address. There are trade-offs for map rankings and we will explain them so you can choose knowingly.
Should I target London or online therapy?
In-person work needs local targeting. Online work competes nationally and is considerably harder. Many therapists do best with a clear local focus and one honest page about online sessions.
Can I do this myself?
A sole practitioner can get a long way on their own, and we will say so if that is the right answer for your budget. Where we help most is structure, the pages worth having and the technical setup.
