SEO Services for Schools in London
School admissions run on fixed national dates, which makes this one of the few sectors where the SEO calendar is not a matter of opinion. If your pages are not ranking by September, you have missed the year.

How your customers search
What search looks like in your sector
Parents search by area and stage: primary schools in a borough, best secondary schools near us, prep school open day. Catchment is the dominant filter, and Google treats your school as a physical location, so the map results matter.
The second wave is checking. Once your name is known, parents search it alongside reviews, Ofsted, term dates and uniform. If directories and the official databases answer those better than you do, the parent forms an impression you did not shape.
Searches we would go after for you
- primary schools in [borough]
- private school open day London
- [school name] term dates
- best secondary schools [area]
Examples, not a finished list. The real one comes out of your site, your margins and what your competitors already hold.
The work
What we actually do
Every engagement starts with an audit, so this list gets reordered once we have seen your site. Nothing here is theoretical.
- 01
Admissions and catchment pages
Written around the areas you actually draw from, with the dates, criteria and process parents are hunting for.
- 02
Open day visibility
Pages published early enough to rank, with the structured data that lets Google show the event.
- 03
Reputation searches
Pages that answer the Ofsted, results, term dates and uniform searches properly, so your site is the source rather than a directory.
- 04
Local presence
Business Profile for each site, which most schools never claim, plus consistent details across the school databases.
- 05
Staff recruitment content
Vacancy and working-here pages that rank, because teacher recruitment is a search problem too and usually an ignored one.
Before you start
What the results page looks like today
School marketing pages that rank are mostly written by website vendors and education-only agencies. Something stood out while researching this: not one competitor page we examined had an FAQ section, and none mentioned Ofsted or league tables, despite both being among the first things parents search. That is an unusually open field.
We would rather tell you which positions are realistic now than sell you a target we both know is years away.

FAQs
Schools SEO: common questions
If yours is not answered here, email us and we will reply properly.
When do we need to start for this admissions cycle?
By late summer at the latest. Secondary applications close on 31 October and primary on 15 January, and pages need months to rank beforehand. Starting in September for an October deadline means paying for ads instead.
We are a state school with no fees. Is SEO still worth it?
Often yes, for different reasons: roll numbers, reputation in the local community, and staff recruitment. The goals are not commercial but the search problem is the same.
Should each school in our trust have its own site?
Usually yes for local searches, with the trust site doing a different job. What matters is that each school site has genuinely different content, or they hold each other back.
Can SEO fill our open days specifically?
It can bring the right families to the booking page, provided the page exists early enough. We also set up event markup so the date can appear directly in search results.
Does SEO work conflict with our statutory website requirements?
No. Statutory information has to be published in a particular way, and we work around it. In practice those pages are rarely the ones competing for parent searches anyway.
