SEO Services for Restaurants in London

Most people choosing where to eat never leave Google Maps. They search a cuisine and an area, look at three results, check the photos and the recent reviews, and book. Restaurant SEO is mostly about winning that twenty-second decision.

How your customers search

What search looks like in your sector

Searches are short and local: cuisine plus neighbourhood, best Sunday roast near me, somewhere for a birthday dinner. Nearly all of it happens on a phone, often while the person is already out.

The second pattern is occasion-led. Private dining, bottomless brunch, big group bookings and work Christmas parties are planned weeks ahead and are far less contested than the cuisine terms everyone chases.

Searches we would go after for you

  • [cuisine] restaurant [area] London
  • best Sunday roast near me
  • private dining rooms [area]
  • bottomless brunch [area] London

Examples, not a finished list. The real one comes out of your site, your margins and what your competitors already hold.

The work

What we actually do

Every engagement starts with an audit, so this list gets reordered once we have seen your site. Nothing here is theoretical.

  1. 01

    Google Business Profile

Correct primary category, cuisine attributes, opening hours that survive bank holidays, and photos that are not three years old.

  2. 02

    Menu pages in HTML

Readable, fast menu pages with dish names and prices as text, plus the structured data Google actually documents.

  3. 03

    Occasion pages

Private dining, set menus, group bookings and festive, each as its own page because each is its own search.

  4. 04

    Reviews process

A simple routine for asking at the right moment, kept inside Google's rules, with a reply template for the bad ones.

  5. 05

    Local content

Pages for the neighbourhood and nearby landmarks or stations, written with enough real detail to be worth reading.

Before you start

What the results page looks like today

The London results for restaurant SEO are held by paid directories and listicles rather than by any agency that has done the work properly. We looked at the service pages that do rank and most never mention menus, reviews, the map pack or the delivery platforms. That is a low bar, and it means a page built on the actual mechanics can get past them.

We would rather tell you which positions are realistic now than sell you a target we both know is years away.

FAQs

Restaurants SEO: common questions

If yours is not answered here, email us and we will reply properly.

Is a Google Business Profile enough on its own?

It gets you into the map pack, which is most of the battle, but the site is what converts. People check the menu, the photos and the booking page before they commit. A strong profile with a weak site loses bookings you already earned.

Is a PDF menu really a problem?

Yes. Search engines read it poorly, it is slow on a phone, and it cannot carry the structured data Google documents for restaurants. Put the menu in HTML and keep the PDF as a download if you want one.

How long does restaurant SEO take?

Business Profile improvements can show in weeks. Cuisine plus area terms usually take three to six months in London, and the busier the area, the longer. Anyone guaranteeing page one is not being straight with you.

Do you work with Deliveroo and the other platforms?

They are a sales channel, not an SEO channel, and they often outrank your own site for your own name. We make sure your site wins your brand search so direct orders come to you rather than through a commission.

How do we handle a bad review?

Reply quickly, publicly, without arguing. We give you a short set of responses that cover the common cases. What matters more is new reviews arriving steadily, because they push the old ones down.
