SEO Services for Accounting Firms in London
A client won through search in March might stay for a decade. That changes the maths on what a ranking is worth, and it is why accountancy SEO is better judged on recurring fees than on monthly traffic.

How your customers search
What search looks like in your sector
Demand is seasonal and sharp. Self assessment searches climb from November and spike before the 31 January deadline. Year end, VAT registration and payroll follow their own cycles.
Small businesses search by need and area: accountant for a limited company, accountant near me, bookkeeping in a borough. Larger clients search by specialism or sector instead.
Marketing follows the ICAEW code: honest, truthful, no exaggerated claims about qualifications or experience, and no unsubstantiated comparisons with other firms.
Searches we would go after for you
- accountant for limited company London
- self assessment accountant near me
- small business accountant [area]
- R&D tax credit accountant UK
Examples, not a finished list. The real one comes out of your site, your margins and what your competitors already hold.

Before you start
What the results page looks like today
The accountancy and solicitor results share several of the same agencies, and their pages share the same skeleton. What separates accountancy is the calendar. Self assessment demand builds from November and peaks before the end of January, and almost nobody writes about what that means for when work has to start.
We would rather tell you which positions are realistic now than sell you a target we both know is years away.

FAQs
Accounting Firms SEO: common questions
If yours is not answered here, email us and we will reply properly.
When should we start if we want January enquiries?
By September. Pages need months to rank before demand arrives, and the practices starting in December end up bidding against each other on ads.
How long does accountancy SEO take?
Xero's own guidance puts meaningful results at roughly three to six months, with the fuller benefit after a year. That matches what we see, and it is worth more than an agency's self-reported figure.
Can we compete with the big online accountants?
Not on national price-led terms. On local searches and on sector expertise, yes, and those clients tend to stay far longer anyway.
Do we need a page for every service?
For the services you want more of, yes. Personal tax, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll are separate searches with separate intent, and one services page serves none of them well.
Do Google reviews matter more than our ICAEW standing?
They do different things. Reviews affect whether you appear in the map results and whether someone calls. Your professional standing affects whether they stay once they have called. You want both, collected within your code's requirements.
